Pizzarotti built this new development on a tight 6,200-square foot landfill next to the East River. Value engineering was used in the project, particularly on the foundation piles. By increasing the diameter of the piles from 9 5/8″ to 13 3/8″, Pizzarotti was able to reduce the number of piles required from 179 to 88.
